China’s Southern Theatre Command said the US warship USS Charleston illegally entered waters off Sabina Shoal without Chinese approval in the early hours of Tuesday, according to Kyodo News.

China says it dispatched forces to track and monitor the ship, while the US 7th Fleet said the Charleston conducted routine operations in international waters consistent with international law.
