A UN independent commission of inquiry concluded that Israel committed war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including extermination, persecution, torture and rape, and that it continues to commit genocide in Gaza by deliberately targeting Palestinian civilians.
In a report released Monday, the group of experts commissioned by the UN said the ceasefire agreement in Gaza has not stopped what it describes as genocide and accused Israeli forces of torture and rape in the West Bank. The document submitted to the General Assembly compares airstrikes in the West Bank: six Palestinians killed between 2008 and October 6, 2023, against 254 between October 7, 2023 and September 30, 2026.
