The United Arab Emirates prosecutor general said on Saturday that the co-pilot of flydubai flight FZ1073, which was bound for Israel, attempted to carry out a “terrorist attack” with an axe during the flight.

Captain Smit Machchhar described his reaction: “Immediately, my hand went to the knob that opens the door, and I screamed for my colleagues, screaming his name,” he told the Jerusalem Post.
