With over 90% of ballots counted, Benjamin Netanyahu’s bloc holds 53 seats against 48 for Gadi Eisenkot’s bloc, with the remaining 19 going to the Joint List and Ra’am, with 12 and seven seats respectively, far short of a majority in the 120-seat Knesset — and Netanyahu told his far-right allies that they are staying together, according to the Times of Israel via Channel 14.
Former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert endorsed Eisenkot and Yashar as better suited to lead the country and said Netanyahu is “on the wrong side of history”, according to the Jerusalem Post.
