US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said he spoke briefly with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Atlanta about the possibility of the two countries’ leaders meeting on the sidelines of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) next month, according to TASS.

“We spoke just briefly about the opportunity for our leaders to potentially interact at APEC next month,” Rubio said at a press conference following the G20 foreign ministers’ meeting. He said there was no meeting, only a conversation.
