North Korea condemned the bilateral Iron Mace exercise, which integrates United States (US) nuclear capabilities with South Korean conventional forces, and vowed to accelerate its nuclear arsenal as an “immutable” policy.

In a statement signed by Kim Jong-sik, the country also took aim at the Hoguk, Freedom Flag and Keen Sword exercises, the last a joint US–Japan exercise.
