Senior United Arab Emirates (UAE) diplomat Lana Nusseibeh entered the race to become the next UN secretary-general on Wednesday, Reuters reported.

Diplomatic sources in New York expect an official announcement soon that the UAE has put her forward, they told The Jerusalem Post. Guterres completes his second five-year term on December 31, and the selection will determine the 10th UN secretary-general.
