The US approved the sale of 500 Patriot missiles to Ukraine, a critically needed munition for defense against escalating Russian aerial attacks, after Kyiv said deliveries had been delayed.
The purchase, estimated at about $2.1 billion, will be covered with funds from Canada, Germany and Norway and with a loan from the European Union, CNN reported.
