The contract for the first Board of Peace base in Gaza was issued in August to Louisiana-based Arkel International, which would build a base for 150 international troops serving as the vanguard of an international stabilisation force, according to Middle East Eye, citing the Guardian.

Contractors and trucks are not being allowed to cross into Gaza to begin the work, and “Israel won’t open the border,” a source told the Guardian, according to the same report.
