The Transnational Legal Coalition (TLC) filed 14 suspected money-laundering complaints on Wednesday against JBS, its financiers and service providers, with notifications sent to regulators in the Netherlands, Germany, Ireland and the United Kingdom.
The complaints rest on research commissioned from AidEnvironment, which linked the company’s direct and indirect supply chain to more than 6.5 million hectares cleared in the Amazon since 1988, and JBS says it cannot comment without access to the study’s methodology.
