The Mossad has joined the Shin Bet security service's investigation into alleged foreign influence in this week's national election, Hebrew media outlets reported Friday.
According to the Jerusalem Post, the Mossad will assist in areas falling under its remit, including the possibility that Qatar was behind payments to the Joint List's apparatus. The Central Elections Committee has repeatedly said that the scope of the investigation is limited and that the results of Tuesday's election, which yielded fresh parliamentary gridlock, were not in question.
