The Arab League has called for an independent international investigation into alleged torture and systematic abuses against Palestinian prisoners from the Gaza Strip held at Israel's Ramla Prison.

Several detainees in the prison's Rakevet section suffered injuries and burns due to repeated acts of repression and mistreatment. The league demanded an immediate end to the abuse and urged Israel to allow unrestricted access for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and independent monitors to the prison to document conditions and provide medical care.
