The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) blamed North Korea for the theft of more than $6 billion in virtual assets from the Binance exchange on or about October 29, according to a statement from the bureau itself.

The FBI said the attack was tied to “malicious cyber activity” by an entity known as TraderTraitor, the same actor behind last year’s $1.5 billion Bybit hack, according to The Associated Press (AP). Binance said on Saturday that it had replaced 90 percent of the stolen amount using company money to buy new tokens, according to Al Jazeera.
