The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) may exit or reduce their presence over the coming weekend in the Hebron neighborhood they have occupied since last weekend, according to the Jerusalem Post, which says the situation is uncertain and highly dynamic.

Before the election, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected the recommendation from IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir to leave the area and allow the at least 2,000 evacuated Palestinians to return home. Adalah petitioned the High Court of Justice on Thursday on behalf of Hebron’s municipality and seven residents to halt forced evacuations and demolitions and secure the return of residents ordered out of their homes.
