Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called on Monday night for parties that oppose terrorism to sit with Likud and form a “broad national government” in a social media post and said he should lead the government, since Likud won the most seats in parliament.
Likud won 27 seats, with Netanyahu’s bloc at 53 overall; Yashar, led by Gadi Eisenkot, won 21 seats and its bloc 48; the Arab parties won 19. Netanyahu said the broad government should be formed without the Arab lists.
