The mandate of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) ends on December 31, 2026, and the mission will then begin an orderly drawdown and withdrawal, by decision of the United Nations (UN) Security Council.

UNIFIL confirmed, in a text republished by the Times of Israel, that peacekeepers from 45 countries continue daily operations across south Lebanon until then. The Security Council is discussing options for the period after the mandate, including monitoring and reporting along the Blue Line, with the decision on future arrangements resting with the Council.
