The Navy of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) said two more supertankers attempting to transit the Strait of Hormuz via an unauthorized southern route struck naval mines, with the explosions and fires incapacitating their engine rooms, and were abandoned by their crews.

Together the vessels were carrying more than 4.5 million barrels of crude oil, according to the IRGC Navy, in a Mehr News report. The commander of the IRGC Navy said US forces had moved 600 to 700 kilometers away from the Strait of Hormuz, according to the Tehran Times.
