Iraqi Kurds have proposed a peace process between Iran and the Iranian Kurdish opposition, a proposal discussed extensively with Iranian officials in Tehran that Talabani said will be a lengthy process, in a report by Middle East Eye.

Iranian Kurdish parties contacted by Middle East Eye said they were not aware of new talks with Iran, or refused to comment. Since the withdrawal, Iran has targeted the Iranian Kurdish parties with drones three times, including during the Meri forum in Koya.
