The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy said two oil tankers exploded after striking mines while traveling along an unauthorized route in the Strait of Hormuz, according to Reuters.

Both vessels deliberately deactivated their navigation and identification systems to pass covertly through the restricted southern route, Mehr News reported.
