Residents evacuated from Russian-occupied Oleshky crossed into Ukrainian-held territory on Saturday and were reunited with their families.

The operation began on Friday and was carried out under the most significant truce since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine four and a half years ago, according to The Guardian. An estimated 2,000 people remained in the city when the truce took hold and could choose evacuation to Ukrainian-held or Russian-held territory, or to stay with food and medical supplies replenished.
