The Houthis have launched multiple cross-border raids into Saudi Arabia in recent months, according to a Western official and an Arab official with direct knowledge of the raids.

The raids are small in scale and have hit border posts in the kingdom’s rugged, mountainous southwest. The 2027 Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia has been postponed by almost a year, and the tournament is now scheduled from December 23, 2027, to January 21, 2028, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) announced on Tuesday. Yemen’s government army said it had carried out 1,208 military operations against Houthi positions and claimed to have “neutralized” around 370 commanders and militants.
