Binance said it has frozen around half of the US$ 6.3 billion stolen in a hack it described as “complex,” the BBC reported.

The case is believed to be the biggest heist of its kind on record, eclipsing the US$ 1.5 billion attack on the Bybit exchange in 2025. The broadcaster also reported that several analytics firms have linked the attack to a North Korean hacking unit.
