The United Arab Emirates closed some beaches after detecting an oil spill from a tanker in the Persian Gulf, according to Bloomberg.

The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment said in a statement that authorities detected “a tanker oil spill affecting Umm Al Quwain’s beaches”, an emirate north of Dubai, according to Euronews.
