The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Shin Bet, Israel’s internal security service, announced they had killed Basel Nabil Abd Al-Rahman Kashta and Ahmad Raja Al-Shaer in Khan Yunis for alleged involvement in smuggling weapons and other military assets into Gaza, according to a joint statement.

According to the statement, the two were killed to eliminate “an immediate threat to Israeli civilians and IDF troops operating in the Yellow Line area”. The IDF and Shin Bet added that precise munitions and aerial surveillance were used to mitigate unnecessary harm to civilians.
