The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) kept deportation protections in place for about 101,000 Ukrainians and 1,800 Sudanese whose Temporary Protected Status (TPS) was set to end on Monday, and said an announcement on the program “will be made at the appropriate time”, according to The Guardian.
Until then, Ukrainians and Sudanese covered by those measures “retain protection”, the department said in a written statement.
