The French government will reinforce police with troops and mount a large security operation for protests planned for Saturday, the government said on Tuesday, according to the South China Morning Post (SCMP).
Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu said “the deployment next Saturday will be massive” and that the immediate priority was to restore order after rioting and looting hit Paris, Marseille, Lyon and other cities on October 17. He also said further curfews will be imposed where necessary, according to NHK World.
