Iraq has closed the Al Sheeb border crossing with Iran to travelers and goods, according to a government official cited by The National.

The closure took effect at 6am local time on Wednesday and will remain in place until further notice. Two sources at the crossing told Reuters that the measure also affects vehicles and commercial trucks, the Jerusalem Post reported.
