President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva said “we are going to prove now that we are going to defeat the digital empire” and that Meta “will have to reinvent itself because it cannot think it can deceive humanity all the time”, in a reference to the company and to Big Tech.

The president defended “regulation without censorship”, in which “any crime on the internet is treated as a crime in real life”.
