Venezuela’s acting president, Delcy Rodríguez, said she had ordered an assessment of non-essential state assets that could be offered to the private sector or returned to their former owners, in a recorded address on Thursday, according to CNN en Español.
She said the initiative is already “advanced” and that “private property is a protected right guaranteed by our Constitution.” In the same address, she reiterated that “there will be elections, everything our Constitution requires” and said the election “should not be a problem or make us go back to times of confrontation that nobody wants anymore”.
