Donald Trump Jr. backed Vice President JD Vance’s assessment that the Republican midterm defeat is down to the war with Iran, throwing the spotlight on divisions within the president’s own camp.

Vance wrote on X: “The reason we lost is the war. The president himself said so last night.” Trump acknowledged that it is “largely true” that Iran and the high fuel prices driven by the conflict led to the defeat, and maintained that he would “do it again,” according to AFP, in a text published by Al Arabiya.
