An aid convoy started moving overnight toward Oleshky, a Russian-held town in southern Ukraine, carrying food and medical supplies, according to the Russian newspaper Izvestia — Ukrainian ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets, who heads Ukraine’s negotiating team, said Thursday that demining of the routes was completed and the humanitarian convoy was assembled and ready, according to the Associated Press (AP).
The Kremlin said it hopes the aid reaches Oleshky on Thursday or Friday and that those who wish to leave will be able to do so, Interfax reported on Thursday.
