The United States (US) State Department ordered the departure of non-essential staff and family members from the embassy in Riyadh, amid intensifying Houthi strikes on Saudi Arabia.

The move was attributed to growing hostilities by the Iranian-supported Houthis, including attacks on civilian airports and critical infrastructure causing casualties and travel disruptions, according to spokesman Tommy Pigott.
