The head of Israel's Central Elections Committee said on Sunday, November 1, 2026, that an ongoing investigation into alleged foreign funding in the recent vote would not call the result into question, noting that, so far, “suspicions remain suspicions.” In a video message, he assured Israelis that “your choice at the ballot box will be respected” and that the elections “were conducted properly.” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his Likud party have accused Arab groupings of having “stolen” the vote, in which they notched unprecedented gains.

The vote on Tuesday, October 27, did not deliver an outright parliamentary majority to any bloc: Netanyahu and his allies won 53 seats and Eisenkot's camp secured 48, both well short of the 61 needed. The Beersheba Magistrate's Court ordered the unconditional release of one suspect and rejected the police's request to extend by eight days the detention of the two others.
