North Korea fired about 10 short-range ballistic missiles toward the sea off its east coast on Thursday, launched at around 12:30 p.m. local time from the Wonsan area and flew about 250 km, South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said, according to G1.

The South Korean Joint Chiefs said further analysis of other specifications was under way in coordination with the United States, according to Yonhap. The launch came about a week after Seoul proposed holding military talks with Pyongyang, as tensions have heightened since the Sept. 21 land mine blast that injured three South Korean soldiers, Yonhap reported.
