A People's Liberation Army (PLA) air defence unit intercepted two new types of missile simultaneously during a drill for the first time, including one that made a sudden change of direction in flight, according to Chinese state television.

The system used was the HQ-9B, of the Central Theater Command Air Force's “Shenwei Missile Battalion”, according to CCTV; the targets included ballistic missiles and one missile that suddenly changed direction during flight.
