French President Emmanuel Macron condemned as a “racist terrorist attack” the shooting that killed one person and wounded five in the Paris suburbs, including a 12-year-old girl shot eight times, according to the SCMP.

The gunman fired from his car on Friday. Macron visited Trappes, the working-class town southwest of Paris where the attack took place and which is suspected of having targeted people of foreign origin. Amid protests in the country, the president met student union representatives, France 24 reported.
