The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is considering adding an economic espionage charge against Abdulrahman Alfozan, a Saudi former OpenAI engineer accused of secretly recording conversations in an executive conference room at the company, according to a law-enforcement official who spoke to The Wall Street Journal, as cited by Middle East Eye.

The probe examines whether Alfozan may have stolen information from the company to offer to the Saudi government, even if he was not recruited to do so, and the investigation may not lead to new charges.
