Russia and Ukraine began a localized ceasefire on Tuesday to allow humanitarian aid into Oleshky, a Russian-occupied town on the left bank of the Dnipro in southern Ukraine, according to DW.
Both sides confirmed the truce took effect at 3 a.m. local time (0100 GMT), after an agreement brokered by US first lady Melania Trump. Around 2,000 people, including up to 50 children, remain trapped in the town, according to Ukrainian and US estimates.
