Japan’s Self-Defense Forces and the United States military will hold the large-scale joint exercise Keen Sword 27 in various locations across Japan from October 19 to 29, deploying about 45,000 and 12,000 personnel respectively, with Australia, Canada, France, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand and the Philippines also taking part, according to Xinhua.
