About 250 rabbis from across the United States urged Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed and former US President Barack Obama to take their concerns about El-Sayed’s position on Israel more seriously, shortly before a rally featuring the two in Detroit on October 24, 2026.

The group says 4,560 people have signed its petition, including out-of-state rabbis who joined the movement in recent days.
