The spokesperson for the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy said two oil tankers exploded after hitting Iranian mines in the Strait of Hormuz, in a statement to the state media channel Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting.

According to the spokesperson, the vessels were traveling on 'an unauthorized route in the Strait' and were in violation of regulations.
