UNICEF said more than 340 Palestinian children have been killed in Gaza since the ceasefire was announced, a little over a year ago.
In the past two weeks alone, five boys and two girls were killed and at least 33 children were seriously injured in Israeli air strikes, drone strikes and gunfire across the Strip, and two more boys died of earlier injuries, according to Middle East Eye. UNICEF Global Deputy Spokesperson Ricardo Pires said in Geneva that some 800,000 children are still displaced, most living in tents or in dangerous bombed-out buildings, and called on the Israeli authorities to allow the entry of materials, equipment, spare parts, generators and engine oil.
