A special tribunal in Bangladesh sentenced Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif to death for the killing of six people in Kushtia during the July Uprising, according to The Hindu.
Hanif is the 23rd leader of the now-disbanded Awami League to receive the death penalty since Sheikh Hasina's ouster.
