Egyptian construction firms surveyed sites in the ruins of the southern Gaza Strip for a housing project dubbed “Green Rafah”, Egyptian sources told Middle East Eye.

The proposed neighbourhood would initially house around 20,000 Palestinians and be supervised by a multinational force expected to be deployed in several parts of the Gaza Strip under the Sharm el-Sheikh peace agreement.
