The final Maariv poll, conducted by Lazar Research and published on Friday, gives 54 seats to the opposition bloc and 48 to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s bloc, a six-seat gap ahead of Tuesday’s Knesset election.

Netanyahu’s Likud stands at 19 seats and Gadi Eisenkot’s Yashar at 21. In a head-to-head race for prime minister, Eisenkot leads with 49% against Netanyahu’s 41%. The poll surveyed 1,048 people between October 19 and 22, with a maximum margin of error of 3 points. Sixty percent of Israelis prefer a unity government if the election produces no clear result, and 81% say they will certainly vote. El País, in its English edition, reports that most polls give Likud between 19 and 20 of the Knesset’s 120 seats, the party’s worst polling performance since 2006, and puts the coalition at around 50 seats.
