Yashar party leader Gadi Eisenkot ruled out joining a government led by Benjamin Netanyahu even if US President Donald Trump asks him to.

“I will not sit in a government led by Netanyahu,” he was quoted as saying. According to the same account, he would attend if invited by Trump but would argue that forming a government is Israel's internal affair and that he would prevent any interference. With anticipated endorsements from the Joint List and Ra'am, Eisenkot could secure recommendations from 67 of the 120 Knesset members, against 53 for Netanyahu's alliance.
