The UN General Assembly's First Committee approved on Monday, November 2, by 180 votes in favor, two against and no abstentions, a draft resolution on conventional arms control at the regional and subregional levels. India and Israel were the only countries to vote against the text in the 193-member body.
An Indian representative argued that “this assumes that the security concerns of States politely stop at their regional borders. They do not”.
