Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Chair Jim Skea asked that the suspended plenary in Addis Ababa be reconvened at the earliest opportunity, AFP reported.
In a statement, Skea said he suspended the panel’s 65th plenary session on the evening of October 16: most of the agenda was concluded, including agreement on a new process for the use of artificial intelligence, but there was no consensus on the timelines for the three Working Group contributions to the Seventh Assessment Report (AR7) or on the IPCC budget.
