United States (US) Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira met on Friday in Atlanta, where both are taking part in a meeting of Group of 20 (G20) foreign ministers.

According to people familiar with the matter, they agreed to meet again in the coming weeks, after President Donald Trump’s decision to grant refuge to the country’s defeated right-wing candidate inflamed tensions.
