US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Monday that Venezuela's interim government told the United States “weeks and weeks” earlier that opposition leader María Corina Machado could return to the country without interference, according to CBS News.
Rubio added that he told the interim authorities the US expectation was that she, a Venezuelan, belongs in her country.
